PAST EVENTS
OLEUM project partners interacted with stakeholders and presented the OLEUM goals, activities, achievements and insights during the following events:
- 25 - 26 September 2018 GREX OO CHEM meeting, Brussels, Belgium
- At the meeting of Expert Group for Common Organisation of the Agricultural Market (subgroup Olive Oil Chemists), prof. Tullia Gallina Toschi presented about information on the state of play of the OLEUM research project.
- 28 September 2018: European Researchers Night, Bologna, Italy
- Interactive sessions aimed at the general public. With the use of the engaging game prepared specifically for this event and assistance of OLEUM researchers, both children and adults learnt how olive oils are produced.
- 3 - 5 October: 9th International CONGRESS of Food Technologists, Biotechnologists and Nutritionists, Zagreb, Croatia
- OLEUM special “Olive Oil Session - The EU20202 OLEUM project (Better solutions to protect olive oil quality and authenticity)” comprised of 6 lectures and 1 poster presentation. Topics of this session were primarily focused on providing updates on OLEUM results, chemical and sensory characteristics of virgin olive oil, its geographical origin, as well as processing parameters to preserve its quality and authenticity.
- 15 - 19 October: OLIVEBIOTEQ 2018, Seville, Spain
- Two sessions focused on olive oil quality and olive oil authenticity with OLEUM researchers presiding and a keynote lecture on the OLEUM advancements on olive oil analytical procedure.
- 21 - 26 October 2018: SciX Cnference, Atlanta, USA
- University of Bologna presented ‘OLEUM Project towards the Quantitative Panel Test: Sensory Aspects and Volatiles Quantitation’
- 23-27 October 2018: 19th IUFoST World Food Science and Technology Congress
- Presentation about OLEUM Project and OLEUM Network at the booth of EFFoST
- 6 - 8 November: 32nd EFFoST International Conference
- Special OLEUM Session on ‘Food authenticity and fraud’ has taken place: in this session, the OLEUM current state of play and the OLEUM technologies were presented by the project coordinator Prof. Tullia Gallina Toschi (UNIBO). Other OLEUM researchers: Diego Luis García-González (CSIC), Franz Ulberth (JRC), Alessandra Bendini, Sara Barbieri (UNIBO) and Sara Erasmus (WUR) presented additional talks with a focus on formulating reference materials for the sensory analysis of virgin olive oils, heritage of food integrity and fighting food fraud from the EU perspective.

- Showcasing OLEUM by project researchers, chaired by the project coordinator prof. Tullia Gallina Toschi
- 25 January 2019 Krinos Olive Cente, Thessaloniki, Greece
- Presentation of the OLEUM project by OLEUM partner AUTH at the one-day event at the American Farm School.
- 30 January - 1 February 2019 OLEUM Consortium meeting, Hamburg, Germany
- The 4th OLEUM project consortium meeting took place in Hamburg, gathering project partners to discuss the progress of the OLEUM research.
- 22 - 24 February 2019 Olive Oil Exhibition, Zagreb, Croatia
- Presentation of the OLEUM project by the Croatian partner Institute of Agriculture and Tourism (IPTPO).
